Apartment Found!

After an exhaustive search spanning the greater Queenstown area I have finally found my living quarters for the winter. Last night I bid farewell to the ambassadors of the Czech Embassy and moved into my very own bedroom in a brand new, super posh 3-bedroom / 3 bathroom house. I am living with a really nice Aussie / Kiwi couple named Geoff and Pip, who have recently relocated to Queenstown from Australia. They are in their mid 30's, they like beer, and they're still pretty hip for their age. Pip made us a great meal last night of fresh steamed mussels and meat pie, both New Zealand specialties, and we stayed up into the night chatting and sipping wine. I've got a really good feeling about this place. The house is amazing, too; great views, very modern, and relatively warm (for QT at least). [Editors Note: I will be referring to Queenstown as QT quite often, so get used to it.] The only downside is the location, as we are about a 25 minute walk from town up a pretty substantial hill. Luckily there is a bus, and Geoff and Pip both have cars, and apparently lots of people hitch-hike up here as well. No worries, mate!
I'm going to post some pictures of my new flat soon. Maybe tomorrow. Right now I need to go shopping for clothes hangers and a stereo to spice up my bedroom, and then I will begin the next big hunt: finding the right job.
