After six weeks of redesigning and printing resumes, visiting dozens of businesses, talking to bartenders and managers, constantly checking back, and waiting and hoping, I have finally been offered a job in Queenstown. I am now working as a server in a fancy seafood restaurant called "Fishbone Bar and Grill". All of my co-workers are extremely friendly, and I think I'm fitting in quite well. The food is amazing, the customers are nice, and we use a highly efficient wireless system with palm pilots to place orders. Best of all, we are only open for dinner, allowing me ample time to go snowboarding during the day. My first night on the floor was last Saturday, then they asked me to come back the next four nights. I'm not sure how many hours I'll be doing this winter but it should be enough to pay the bills.I've gone through stints of unemployment before, but they were all desired and planned out. It was tough to really want and need a job for so long without being able to find work. But that's all behind me now, what a relief!
