New Flatmate

There are three bedrooms in my flat. I sleep in the room downstairs, Pip & Geoff are in the master bedroom, and that leaves one more room upstairs. For the first month that I lived here Geoff was using this space as an office, as he usually works from home one day a week (he's a physical therapist that makes house calls, by the way). So we had this office, which contained a bed, a desk, a laptop and a printer. After the last electric bill came in, though, this suddenly seemed like an imprudent use of the space. We decided to rent the room out. An ad was placed in the paper and we had lots of people through to check the place out. Eventually we picked a half English / half Austrian girl who seemed pretty cool, but it turned out she was a smoker, even though our ad specifically stated this was unacceptable. She moved out last Sunday, and we started the flatmate search process again. Then yesterday it dawned on me to ask Andrew if he wanted to live here. He's been staying in a flat just down the road from us with a very religious married couple. He got along with them all right, but didn't really consider them friends. Andrew contemplated my offer for a few minutes before accepting, broke the news to his flatties that night, and moved in with us yesterday.
