Although it's still not back to 100% my shoulder has healed considerably in the past week. So much so that my physical therapist gave me the go-ahead to start snowboarding again. On Tuesday I hit up the terrain park at the Remarkables with my Czech buddy Vonkish, and it was glorious. We had lots of fun, I felt like I got right back into the groove and Vonk was trying some of the harder features that he'd previously avoided. I even claimed my redemption on the log jib that I'd hurt myself on three weeks prior. Then on Wednesday Andrew and I took a road trip to Ohau, which is a small privately-owned ski field about two and a half hours northeast of Queenstown. Ohau only has one chairlift, but if you're willing to hike a bit you can get to some awesome terrain, and the views from the ridgeline are breathtaking. Best of all, the place has a great low-key vibe to it; the clientale seems to be mostly locals who smile a lot, and the lodge is an old wooden cabin that probably wouldn't fit more than 50 people.
I am super stoked to be getting out into the mountains again instead of sitting around on the couch. Thank you everyone for your kind wishes while I recovered from my injury.
